NOAH, was a farmer-turned-boat builder who got his name in lights because the boat he built survived a universal flood. What we somtimes overlook is that afterwards he got blind drunk and disgraced his family. ABRAHAM, wasn't a prophet or a teacher; he was a businessman with a character flaw who tried to save his neck by lying and compromising his wife's safety. SARAH, a homemaker, laughed when God told her she'd give birth to a child at ninety years old (and you'd probably have done the same!) There's JOSEPH, a slave with a prison record, who ended up becoming Prime Minister. Then there's RAHAB the harlot; how did somebody with her background ever become a woman of faith? Of course there was DAVID, whose womanizing led to murder. And what about GIDEON and SAMUEL, two spiritual leaders whose childer went astray?
The bottom line is, all these "greats" were human just like us. In fact some of them would make us look like saints! They faltered, fumbled the ball, and went through hard times. Their only distinction is--they believed God and He honored their faith!
